On March 6, 2025, the Association of Jewish Psychologists hosted the webinar Enough is Enough: Jewish and Indigenous Perspectives in Addressing Antisemitism, featuring Mark Sandler, Chair of the Alliance of Canadians Combatting Antisemitism (ALCCA), and the Honourable Harry LaForme, ALCCA’s Honorary Chair and Canada’s first Indigenous appellate judge.

The discussion examined the surge in antisemitic hate activities following October 7, 2023, and explored strategies for combatting antisemitism through advocacy, education, and respectful dialogue.

The speakers addressed key topics such as the intersection of free speech and hate speech, the role of legal enforcement, and the importance of coalition-building across diverse communities.

The Honourable Harry LaForme also provided an Indigenous perspective on allyship and reconciliation. He described his connection to the Jewish community as rooted in both personal relationships and cultural values. He emphasized the commonality of Jewish and Indigenous struggles.

The Interfaith Bridge is a grassroots interfaith group dedicated to fostering unityand combating antisemitism in our community. Through interfaith awareness, education, and dialogue, we aim to create a unified voice of support and solidarity. Our community engagement and events provide resources and tools to help individuals and organizations recognize and counteract antisemitism. By building bridges, we hope to inspire and empower individuals to advocate for policies and practices that support the Jewish community and promote a culture of tolerance, safety, and security for all.
