In June, The Interfaith Bridge was honoured to take part in the inaugural Simeon Initiative Summit in Toronto, where 100 Jewish and Christian leaders from across Canada gathered to strengthen interfaith relationships and build a united front against antisemitism.
Launched by Cardus and the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), the Simeon Initiative builds on the Canadian Christian Declaration on Antisemitism, signed by over 700 clergy nationwide. The summit marked the start of The Year of Encounter—a commitment to foster joint projects between churches and synagogues across Canada.
With leadership from Rev. Dr. Andrew Bennett, Rick Ekstein, and Richard Marceau, the summit highlighted the urgent need for moving beyond dialogue to action, creating lasting partnerships and a shared commitment to stand against hate.
